14th November; the 125th birthday of our first prime minister,  Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, is better known as the Children’s Day all over India. On this day, the teachers of Arwachin International School express their love for their students by organizing a fete for them each year. This year was no different and the fete commenced at 9:00 on 14th November, with the release of the balloons by the respected Principal Mrs. Peter. The fete was a beautiful mosaic of teachers’ expression of love. The stalls organized ranged from crazy games to mind-bobbling tasks to the mouth watering food stalls and even to the D.J. which left everybody thumping to the beats, longing for more. The games organized were both physical and digital. It was a pleasant sight to see the teachers enjoying as much as the students did. At the end, there was a lucky draw which included a boys’ and a girls’ watch, a pair of rollerblades and the strategic game of “Monopoly”. Although the experience tired everyone and left them crawling, it was a lovely arrangement, one that will be remembered for a long time.

                              A Visit by JICA Professors

Three professors from Tokyo Gakugei University of Japan, Mr. Hideaki Shibuya,Ms. Megumi Shimada and Ms. Hiroko Yabe visited Arwachin International School on     3rd November, 2014,

They specialize in education and Japanese language.  They visited some universities to deepen their understanding of Japanese Language education in India and our school was the first middle school for them to make a visit.  One of the professors is involved in the selection of JICA volunteers in the field of Japanese language.  It was the reason they came to us, as JICA is the organization which had sent Ms. Yumi Shobara as a volunteer to our school.

They observed the teaching techniques by attending the Japanese language period of class XI, discussed a topic for writing a composition and then they met the Principal and discussed about our school and its educational policy.  They were especially interested in acquiring knowledge about the CBSEi, curriculum.  It was a good opportunity for us to have guests from Japan and who were delighted to know about the education system of Arwachin International School.
