As a part of introduction to the  Japanese culture, Ms. Yamaguchi shared the textbook “Hashi”, an introductory  Japanese book, for  Primary school students.

An open talk session was also held at the end of the workshop. In this session, the Japanese teachers of various schools discussed their queries and also shared their experiences & ideas regarding teaching of Japanese in  various schools.

It was a good opportunity to get new ideas of teaching Japanese. We are looking forward for such support in future too.

Poster Making Competition on CHILD LABOUR

Child labour has been an international as well as a national concern, because it damages, spoils and destroys the future of the children. The problem of child labour is a serious matter not only in India but also in other developing countries. But sadly India is home to the largest number of child labourers in the world. The census found an increase in the number of child labourers from 11.28 million in 1991 to 12.59 million in 2001. Children are the hope and future of a nation. Yet, there are millions of deprived children in our country who have never known a normal, carefree childhood.

It is a great social problem; and to make our students aware of the issue, it was taken up as a SEWA Project. The students spent two months dealing with the issue, had healthy discussions, field trips with their parents and even interviews of the child labourers were conducted as a part of the project.

To encourage the spirit of competition and motivate them to think creatively on the issue; on 12.09.2015 and 14.09.2015 a poster making competition was conducted for classes 1 to 5 of CBSE(i), where in the students had the opportunity to take all that they had learnt and turn it into motivational slogans and colourful art work. Mrs. Isha Sachdeva, the art teacher, was the judge. The outcome was good as the students came up with various amazing ways to depict their understanding of the issue. Here’s hoping for more of such competitions, collaborative work and enthusiastic participation.

Superstar Salman Khan was cheered by the students. The adorable, little girl stole everyone’s heart with her innocent looks. IT was just the right time for the children to watch this movie that had a very strong message of bridging many divides of religion, national integrity and food habits especially in the current climate of distrust. The students clapped with all the peppy numbers.

Each student was given a bottle of Yakult after the show was over.

It was a day full of enjoyment and relaxation for the students.
