INDIAN MUSIC COMPETITION (29.10.15) 

 The Indian Music Competition of L.K.G. and U.K.G. was held on 29th October ’15. The children participated with great enthusiasm as it was their first opportunity to participate in Indian Music Competition.

The guest of honour was Mrs. Peter. The honourable judges were Mrs. Rohtagi, Mrs. Arti Tyagi and Ms. Natasha Sharma. The results were announced by Mrs. Peter.

                 Dusshera Celebration

      On 19th Oct’15, the Primary wing of AIS celebrated Dusshera with great fervor. The program began with the lighting of the lamp by our Principal Mrs. Peter. This was followed by setting the mood of the audience with a soulful “Ram Bhajan’ sung by the students of classes- 2-4. Following this was a beautiful dance drama by the students of classes 3-5. The plight of Sita on being separated from her beloved Ram was well depicted by the children who performed on the song- Pal Pal hai Bhari. The students of classes 1-2 then danced on the song- Dunkiya Chale na Shri Ram ke bina. In this series of lovely events, some more charm was added by an English song- My Lord is so Great, sung by the students of classes 1-5. This was followed by a beautiful musical medley where the students of class 5 played enchanted music on various musical instruments. Songs like- Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram and Mangal Bhawan were played near to perfection by the talented Arwachinians. Last but not the least, was a dance performance by the students of classes 4-5 on a song dedicated to Lord Hanuman- .

      The program came to an end with Mrs. Peter appreciating the effort of the students and the teachers and wishing one and all a very happy Dusshera.

        Inter House Dance competition

        Dance and music soothe and relax the minds of the students and at the same time they educate the children and stimulate their concentration and creativity. Indian classical dance, the theme of our dance competition, is not only the quintessence of sweetness, beauty and power of eternal culture but also a prayer and meditation attracting divine blessings, happiness and peace of mind.

        With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students, an inter house dance competition was organised on 17th October in the school auditorium. The competition was divided into three categories: Solo Classical Dance, Duet Freestyle Dance and Group Freestyle Dance. All the vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The young dancers enthralled the audience with their highly enthusistic performances.

        In the closely contested competition, it was difficult for the judges to rate the performances. The result of the competition is as follows:

          INTER HOUSE KARATE COMPETITION 2015 – 2016

          Karate is a Japanese word. This is formed by two Japanese words – Kara + Te. Kara means empty and Te means hand. Thus Karate means empty hand, whose physical Aspects seek the development of defensive and counter attacking body movements. The themes of traditional Karate training are fighting and self defense.

          Inter House Karate Competition was held at Arwachin International School, Delhi. All the participants performed well in the event of Individual Kumite. There were four groups in the competition. It was categorized according to the class.

          (1)  Senior Group-Class  10 & 11    

           (2)  Junior Group – Class 7,8 &9

          (3)  Sub-Junior Group-Class 5 & 6

          (4)  Cadet Group – Class 4

          Senior & Junior Group Karate Competition was held on 14th October 2015.

            Counseling Session for students of Class VIII(Japanese)

            Counseling Session for students of Class VIII for pursuing Japanese 

            in Secondary and Senior Secondary school

            Our students of class XII of Japanese Language conducted a counseling session for students of class VIII as they decide to opt for an additional subject for senior secondary classes. This session was conducted by M. Somanth , Vrinda Aggarwal, Srishti Kishore and Aksahy Sharawat of class XII in the presence of the Japanese Language teacher Mrs. Kanika Tiwari and The native volunteer Ms. Yumi Shobara.

            It was an hour long session where students spoke about their experience of learning the Japanese language and benefits and importance of learning it for taking admission in good universities and acquiring jobs worldwide. They also spoke about their participation in various cultural exchange programmes and seminars and about their learning experiences from their visit to Japan in recent years.

            It was a fruitful session as many of our students who were in a dilemma of selecting additional subject next year, now have a better clarity about making the selection.

              An INTER HOUSE INDIAN MUSIC COMPETITION was held in our school on 12th October .Students of classes 6 to 12 participated in the competition. The students showed great enthusiasm and zeal for the healthy competition .The competition began with the melodious solo performances which were followed by duet and then group performances of each house.

              With a lot of efforts shown by all the participants, the event proved to be a huge success and was praised by one and all.

              Though to rate the performance becomes a very difficult task in the face of excellent performance but based on overall efforts, the results are announced and are attached. The students are expected to take them as a pointer to strive harder to improve further.

                A book fair was organized at Arwachin International School by scholastic publisher from 5th to 10th October 2015.There were various books of different categories like encyclopedia, art and craft, Fiction, Academics, General Knowledge etc.The aim of the fair was to inculcate reading habit among the students.

                 People of all the ages love stories. Children are great fans of stories and love to listen to them. During this week a short movie and colouring activity of Clifford was organized on 8th October 2015 for pre- primary. The winners are:

                                                      Inter House Instrumental Music Competition

                  Our school held an Inter House Instrumental Music competition on 7th October. Students exhibited excellent skills on the instruments. The competition began with the solo performances where the students played Tabla showcasing their talent of handling the instrument beautifully and rhythmically. The second round was the duet round, the blend of tabla with different instruments like Casio, Harmonium, Guitar and Flute was well played by the students. All the performances were mesmerizing indeed. In the third round of group performances, the audience was well entertained by the bollywood songs played beautifully with a combination of different instruments by each house.

                  The competition was indeed a great success. The results of the competition are also attached below:

                    Timings 10:00 a.m. – 2:00p.m.
                    “Idole Indienne” Indian Idol in French was oraganised by  IATF along with Goyal saab publishers on 3. 10.15 , Saturday in which 25 students from classes II- IX participated. This competition was open to all Delhi schools.  The children were told to choose a song from the list which was given one month in advance and they had to sing the song without any background music. The jury was from Delhi University, JNU, and some other reputed universities.
                    Five children out of 25 were selected  from our school for the second round.
