INVESTITURE AND FELICITATION CEREMONY

 AT

ARWACHIN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Every student becomes successful by what he or she is taught in the school and every institution gains success by how its students perform.

25th May, 2016 was an auspiciousl day for Arwachin International School as two very vital events were held on this day.

Felicitation ceremony was organized for the students of class 12, who have scored above 90%. Each student was awarded with a trophy. This was  followed by the investiture ceremony . Mr. G.K. Varshney, the officiating  Principal at Shyam Lal College, was invited as the chief guest who felicitated the students. The Principal and the teachers stood with their eyes twinkling with great pride as they watched their students being felicitated and the message was clear at that moment that hard work never goes unrewarded.

The new faces of the student council, who would lead the students of the school, came up. Pancham Gupta and Sneha Aggarwal of class 12 are entitled the Head Boy and Head Girl respectively. Nancy Rustagi of class 12 has been chosen as the Secretary of the school. The Sports Captains are Shraddha and Gagan Varshney of class 12. Four House Captains and four Vice House Captains have also been selected from class 12 and class 11 respectively. 14 students from class 11 have been made the Discipline Incharge. The students were honoured with a badge and a sash. It was a propitious moment as the leaders of tomorrow stood up to take their place and read a sacrament to serve the school with honesty and devotion.

The event ended with a word of advice by our seniors and motivational words by the Chief Guest and our Principal, Mrs. Peter.

    SEWA PROJECT

    EMPATHY

Academic year 2016-2017 opened up for our students with a brand new SEWA project- Empathy. Brainstorming sessions with the students were organized to draft an action plan on how to proceed with the project and its scope.

Discussions were held in the class on the activities of the project. One of the activities done by the students, was to prepare 'who needs my help' worksheet.  The students were asked to depict through words, prayers and poems about the needs of others and to provide assistance without being asked.

A thorough orientation of the students was taken on how they can help children who are differently abled. They were asked to think about those fighting with terminal diseases like Cancer, or those who belong to disadvantaged groups or are facing with physical challenges. Our students were asked to be in their shoes and see how they lead their lives.

As a school activity, the teachers planned their interaction, on rotation, with differently abled children and the young ones of class 1, 2, and 3 during examination time. The students were properly trained to guide and support the young children during the exam and also provide their assistance to the teachers.

The activity was planned to make the students empathize with other students, experience their fear and anxiety during the exam period. To make our students understand first how attempting a paper for a differently abled student can be a frustrating and a de-motivating task.
