A DREAM COME TRUE: My visit to Paris.

The day had finally arrived. It was the day when I was going to France. Winning the “Silverzone French Olympiad 2015” gave me the chance to visit my dream country France. It was the first time ever in my life that I was going out of India and therefore I was double excited. It was like my dream come true. I was accompanied by my teacher Mrs. Walia. I was sure that that it would be a wonderful trip. We were a group of eight people including the family of organizers, another teacher from a reputed school along with her winning child. We reached Paris in the evening on 13th June.

We were lodged in a hotel named “Mercure Opera Montemarte”. It is situated near Sacre Coeur a famous cathedral and Royal Opera of Paris. The view from our hotel was mesmerizing. I noted few shocking and surprising facts about Paris, for example, I found it very interesting that even at 10:00 p.m. it was quite bright. I found Paris very crowded as it was the peak time of the Euro football match.

The first  day in the French soil was spent in sightseeing.  A city tour on bus was arranged for us soon after the typical French breakfast at the hotel.  The automatic audio guide of the bus explained all the details of the Parisian area and its surrounding dated from the history as well. I got to know the rich  history of Paris as well. After the city tour we went to the top of a tower called “La Tour Montparnasse”, the tallest building in Paris. This tour has 59 floors. The view from the top of the tower was magnificent. Then we headed to The Eiffel Tower, the iron lady of Paris and we saw many other monuments like l’ Arc de Triomphe, the famous church Notre Dame. We reached hotel at night tired but happy. Then we  went to see “Sacre Coeur” on foot. As it was on the top of the hill, the view was very nice. It was very calm and peaceful inside the cathedral.

The next day ie on 16th June we went to Disneyland. I just loved it. There were two parts of Disneyland, Disneyland Adventure park and Disneyland Studios. We went to the adventure park which had many rides and fun activities to do. The roller- coasters and other rides were amazing. I took a ride of one roller-coaster, it was very terrifying. At one time we went 360 degrees round. It was only a 60 seconds ride and I felt as if it was of 60 hours!! There was a parade at 6 o clock in the evening where I saw Elsa, Anna from the movie Frozen and all other characters from Disney. It was fun watching them dancing and singing live. I really wanted that day to be the longest in my life as I didn’t want to return back. We returned to the hotel around 10 p.m.

On the third and last day of the trip we were free to do shopping. I bought few souvenirs, chocolates etc. for my friends and family. Now my bag was full of not only the purchased articles but also with so many good memories. We packed our bags and headed to Paris airport around 5 in the evening. Well, as we say”All good things come to an end” ,we also had to end the trip. This trip has enabled me to discover not only the French monuments, etc but also has exposed to their rich culture. All what I have read in the text books I was able to explore them. I believe it’s my life time learning experience.

I would like to encourage all my friends learning French in Arwachin International School to participate and excel in such programmes. I am very thankful to my teachers who trust me always.

    MY TRIP TO FRANCE

Competitions are meant to win and winning leads to new exposures. I feel full of gratitude for my school that provides me appropriate opportunity to prove myself. No doubt my skills are polished here by my reverend and supportive teachers and I am thankful to them too. 25th January was an unforgettable day for me. I won the trip to France as the first prize at the national level of French Spell Bee competition. My happiness had no bounds.

I went to France during the summer vacations for 8 days. I switched off to Paris on 8th June with the director of Frehindi Education pvt. Ltd along with two teachers, and four children from other schools.

First of all we went to Nantes, (a region near Paris) by TGV, the fastest train of Frence . At Nantes  we visited many places like ‘Chateaux de dukes’(a historical place), Machine de l’ile, a beach, Place Royal and Mont Saint Michel (a Cathedral) which was situated in Normandy. We walked around the streets of Nantes and enjoyed shopping at ‘Galleries Lafayette’. I also had a great opportunity to visit a French school. It was a wonderful experience of learning with French students.

Last two days of the trip were the most exciting as I visited the City of lights, Paris. Eiffel Tower is the centre of attraction of Paris. It is located beside river Seine. We went on the top of the tower and saw the scenic beauty. I felt as if I am  on the top of the world. I also went to ‘Champs Elyees’ and ‘Arc de Triomphe’. I bought  some souvenirs.

I finally returned on 21 June with my group safely with a bag full of everlasting memories.

This memorable and unforgettable experience will always bow my head in front of my school and my teachers. This journey was a great learning and lifetime experience for me. I would like to encourage all the students learning French to participate and win in such competitions.
