Inter House Dance Competition

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul”

                                                                         ? Martha Graham

Dance is the most immediate and accessible of all the arts because it involves our own body. Dance involves a greater range of motion, coordination, strength and endurance than any other physical activity. Learning to dance takes extreme self discipline and creativity. It is an easy outlet to release frustration and the burden on your shoulders. It uplifts and motivates the spirit and gives the people a more positive outlook towards  life and situations. Keeping in mind the importance of dance, Arwachinians are taught different dance styles including: Kathak, Tandav, Kathakali, Hip-Hop, Freestyle etc.

Through dance, our children learn to work in a group in perfect coordination. Arwachinians are real stars who shine on the stage when they start dancing. To give a perfect platform to the young learners to perform, an inter house Dance Competition was organized on 31st August, 2016. The students from classes 6 to 12 participated in the competition. There were three rounds: Solo, Duet and Group. All the four houses gave their hundred percent.  The participants captured the attention of the audience. The audience as well as the panel of judges:  Mrs. Rohatgi, Mr. Dilip Sagar and Mr. Saurav Chaudhary were fully engrossed in the programme. The result of the Competition is as follows:

                        INDEPENDENCE DAY (1-5) 2016

Arwachin International School celebrated the 70th year of India’s Independence on 12th August 2016. The students from classes 1 to 5 took part in it with great enthusiasm and zeal. The occasion was graced by the presence of our honorable director Mr. Arun Sharma. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. It was an auspicious beginning.

The programme started with a thoughtful dramatization of the play “The Vision Of India” which evoked the feeling of social responsibility in the children. It was followed by a mesmerizing hindi song “Saare Jahan Se Achha” popularly known as “Tarana-e-hindi”. Everyone enjoyed the song. After that the children sang an English song “Yellow”.

The Instrumental Medley performed on the patriotic songs by the students of classes 3, 4 and 5 was really a breathtaking one. Last but not the least, the young dancers of Arwachin performed on various patriotic songs which left the audience spellbound. The programme concluded with the thought provoking, encouraging and inspiring words of our respected director Mr. Sharma. He shared his valuable thoughts that if we really want to respect our nation, we should keep our India clean and follow the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” religiously. Our respected principal Mrs. Peter said that we all are blessed that we are born in independent India and emphasized on the importance of cleanliness too.

Students of classes XI and XII were educated about the various Science and Technology courses followed by an exclusive lecture by Prof. Sano about the faculty of Economics. The programme is designed to build global leaders for business and society.  They informed the students about the scholarships available and the eligibility criteria for the same.

Students who would pass the screening can study Japanese and the selected course at Nagoya University with full scholarship, and they will have plenty of job opportunities at the supporting global companies after graduation.

Our students were very excited and motivated after attending the lecture.  Hopefully, they will grow as liaisons between India and Japan by participating in this project.
