Arwachinians
participated in Japanese Tea Ceremony Workshop
The
Embassy of Japan organized a workshop showcasing the Japanese Tea Ceremony on
Tuesday, 28th Nov. 2017 at the Ambassador’s Residence. It was the
part of the ongoing Japan festival 2017 - the Year of India-Japan Friendly
Exchanges.
In
the event, Ms. Yuko Sensui, Representative of the Association of the
Preservation of Traditional Japanese Chanoyu Culture from Japan, introduced the
history and tradition of tea ceremony, as well as demonstrated the way of making & having
tea.
Six
of our Japanese language students of class 10 along with their Japanese
language teacher Mrs. Jain, enthusiastically attended the event. The students
were exposed to the comprehensive culture which is typically based on Japanese
spirit of hospitality. They also got an opportunity to make and serve tea.
Our
students are now highly influenced by the Japanese culture and motivated for
Japanese language studies. We look
forward to attend such workshops in the future as well.
