NASA TRIP

 

Transforming an opportunity into a tradition the Arwachinians once again visited the Kennedy Space Center. Mrs.Sibal and ten students took this once- in -a life time opportunity. The educational trip to the KSC organised by NASA featured a 10 day trip to USA that included a 3 day trek to the KSC. The 3 day trek at the KSC acquainted the Arwachinians with the entire working system of the KSC. Among the highlights of the tour were a visit to the to the astronaut hall of fame, Apollo/Saturn V Center, Rocket garden, Early Space exploration, the launch pads 39-A and 39-B and the vehicle assembly building. The people at NASA ensured that the student were not just returning with visual memories, but were taking away with them some new knowledge. The students were told about working of orbiters, the mercury program and the working of rockets. The students participated and excelled at several activities such as rocket making and bridge making. The students were fortunate enough to get the golden opportunity of having a rendezvous with astronaut Barbara Morgan. Over lunch Barbara Morgan shared her experiences with them.

After the extremely interesting informative trek at KSC. The Arwachinians had the taste of American lifestyle. With much excitement the students visited popular tourist sites in Orlando,e.g. the Sea World, the Universal studios and Cocoa beach. After the informative trip to KSC and felicity in Orlando the students  left for New York.

In New York the Arwachinians were mesmerized by the statue of liberty. They visited several famous destinations including the great bald eagle, Ground zero, Broadway, Wall Street, National Museum of America-India, and Trinity Church,

The trip also included a tour in Washington DC.

The trip was a huge success. The students were thankful to the sponsors and the school authorities for providing them with this life changing opportunity.
