A mock fire and evacuation drill involving students, teachers and non-teaching staff was conducted from Pre-Primary I to class XI on 29th November 2018 to create awareness among the students about disaster management and  the ways to respond swiftly in times of such emergency situation. The teachers were positioned at the exit points to guide and assist the students in the mock drill. The drill started moments after the fire alarm alerted everyone. The students were immediately evacuated from their classroom and other activity areas. They were asked to gather in the ground. The motive of the drill was to prepare the students and teachers for any such event. The mock drill helped us to check the readiness of the school to face any such fire emergency and also to make students and staff aware about the Fire Fighting rescue operation.

          Inter House Indian Music Competition

Music is the greatest communication in the world. It’s the movement of the sound to reach the soul. For thousands of years, in all cultures, people appreciate singing.

An Inter house Indian Music competition was organized for classes 6 to 10 on 27th November, 2018. The students could be seen learning their lyrics, practicing singing and reworking their pitches before the program. There were three different categories of the competition- solo, duet and group.

The students of the Solo category stole every one’s heart by singing classical rags like Raag Bageshri, Raag Bhoopali, Vrindavani Sarang etc. The result is as follows:

1st Manu Rai (10A) of  Tagore house

2ndAnsh Awasthi  (6B)  of Tilak House

3rd Kokila Rohatgi (7A) of Bose house

4th Siddhant  Agarwal (9A) of Shastri House

                A TALK ON ORGAN DONATION

A small session on Organ donation was organized at Arwachin International School by Dadhichi Deh Daan Samiti on 20th November 24, 2018.

Dadhichi Deh Daan Samiti is a society dedicated to promoting the cause of body-organ donation after death. It has more than 10,000 registered donors. The society acts in close co-ordination with ORBO and anatomy department of Medical College in Delhi.

The honourable members of the organization, Mr. Yogendra Aggarwal, Mr. Mahesh Pant, Mr. Anil Verma, Dr. Abhishek and Dr. Vishal Chadha, were present to conduct the session which was an eye-opener for the students as well as the teachers. It was surprising to know that India lags far behind other countries in organ donation. There is a wide gap between patients who need transplant and the organs that are available in India.

It was an interesting and interactive session which aimed at making the audience aware about the need of organ donation. The resource people answered all the queries of the students and removed the hesitation about donating organs. They motivated and encouraged the students and the teachers towards organ donation in their lives.

The much awaited festival, the festival of lights, Diwali was celebrated with much enthusiasm and traditional fervor at Arwachin International School on 5th November 2018.  The students of classes 6th to  12th presented a special assembly on this festive occasion and shared valuable information about the festival , which teaches us the way of living a happy  and contented life. The assembly commenced with the lighting of the lamp by our honourable Director, Mr. Sharma,  and our admirable  Principal, Mrs. Swapna Nair. The students highlighted the importance of this day when Lord Rama returned  to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile  by singing a devotional song ‘Aaye hain prabhu Shri Ram’ followed by the chanting of 108 names of Goddess Lakshmi. Today we all share good relationships with our parents, brothers and sisters but the true devotion and sacrifice can only be learnt from the Great Ramayana. Showcasing the difference between todays’ relationships and the relationships shared by the people of Treta Yug, a drama was staged by the students of classes 6 to 9. Music is deeply rooted in our souls, the  young instrumentalists enthralled the audience with their breathtaking performance.  According to a report, one Diwali night pollutes the city as much as it gets polluted the whole year. Our students gave a very strong message of saying no to crackers through a Nukkar Natak. The show came to a close with a sensational dance performance of the students of classes 6-9.  Our honourable director, Mr. Sharma and our highly regarded Principal, Mrs.  Nair, congratulated the teachers and the students for a very beautiful show.

General knowledge is something that really helps us to grow both on personal as well as academic level. An individual’s personality can be judged by his up-to-date general knowledge of various subjects and current affairs in different domains that makes him an intelligent person.

“The pursuit of knowledge is never ending. The day you stop seeking knowledge is the day you stop growing.”

Keeping this noble thought in mind Arwachin International School organized an Inter House GK Quiz for Classes 1 to 5 on November 2, 2018. Fuel is a natural resource that produces useful energy when it undergoes a chemical or nuclear reaction. But fuel is not manmade and it occurs only naturally, so its judicious use is much more needed not for today but for future generation too. We do not need fuel only to run our vehicles only, but it needs to run our life and better environment too. However, fuels are non renewable source of energy which are getting depleted so there is an urgent need to conserve fuels.

In order to encourage the same amongst the students an online quiz was conducted at Arwachin International School on 31st October’18 on fuel conservation and environment by PCRA under the supervision of Ms. Ambika Verma and Mrs Anjali Sharma.13 students from classes 8-10 participated in the quiz with utmost dedication and enthusiasm. The motto of the quiz was to inculcate the awareness and the values in the students for our environment and surroundings. The main topics of concern were Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, Energy and Fuel. It was an enriching experience for the students.
