On 29th November 2018, the students of Arwachin International School participated in the International Spelling Competition more properly known as ‘SpellBee’. The competition was conducted by Humming Bird Education Pvt. Ltd. which is reviewed and awarded as ‘Asia’s Greatest Brand and Leader’ by ‘Price Water House Cooper P.L’. The objective of the competition was to test the spelling as well as the conceptual knowledge of the given words.

Around 249 students from classes 1 to 9 participated in the prestigious competition. Out of 249 students, 69 students excelled in Level 1 and sat for the Level 2 which was held on 15th February, 2019.

All the students were motivated by providing participation certificates. The position holders were awarded with merit certificates. Many students outshined the others by bagging nine Gold, seven Silver and eleven Bronze medals for the school.

The result of Level 2 is awaited.

 

The competition proved to be a great exposure for the students.

    Cooking is Love made visible

    Arwachin international School Dilshad garden organized “Grand Parents Day” and it began with “Story Telling Session” and was further followed by “Cooking Activity”.

     The event came into its full colors as our grandmothers started showcasing their expertise.  Mrs. Bhardwaj (Grandmother of Nakshatra Bhardwaj) made yummy fruit cream, Mrs. Jain(Grandmother of Anshika Jain)  prepared healthy sandwiches, Mrs. Jain(Grandmother of Sparsh Jain) made delicious chocolate balls on 15th February.

     Apart from being a great opportunity of enjoying dear grandmothers  cooking for us, it was an interactive session as well which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students. The recipes were healthy and nutritious and most importantly they were cooked without using fuel.  Madam Principal, Mrs. Nair graced the occasion with her presence.  The very purpose of the session, i.e to provide an opportunity for the involvement of grandparents as support system into our education system, that helps our tiny tots to remain rooted to their culture and value the presence of their grandparents in their life.

    Overall the occasion was a great success and was completely enjoyed by the children and the teachers got to enjoy the culinary expertise of the grandparents as well.

      Importance of Sports

      The students of class 4 A conducted the interactive assembly on 15th February, 2019. “Sports lead to a balanced mental and physical growth.” The quote itself coveys the message of the assembly. A short skit was presented by the students telling that sports and games are a vital part of human physiology. They strengthen us, entertain us, and fulfill our competitive nature as well as aiding our physical and mental health. Sports are an important part of a student’s life as well.

      The skit was followed by various dance performances on the songs showing that sports can lead to multiple benefits which were enjoyed by the audience as well as the teachers. Last but not the least cricket mime dance was a cherry on the cake where students as well as the audience enjoyed cricket match in a dance form.

      INTERACTIVE ASSEMBLY STEM AND ROBOTICS CLUB

      TODAY’S CHILD IS TOMORROW’S ENGINEER

      STEM and Robotics are the excellent ways to introduce the students with the combination of (Science, Technology, and Engineering & Mathematics). It is the best way for Practical Learning, Team Work, Developing good IQ, Problem Solving skill, Competitive Spirit and Exposure about global happenings in education. Working on solutions to real-world problems is the heart of any STEM investigation.

      Students of the STEM club presented the model made by them using one of the mechanical kits i.e., MECHANZO KIT. They made the SWEEPER CAR model and explained well about the parts used for making the model, motors used and different types of motors, current and the use of control cart and the remote. They also explained well how to operate the sweeper car. Lastly, it was summed up by the presentation of pictures of what all the students have learned throughout the year on the projector.

      The students of Robotics club presented two models, the ‘Caravan’ and the ‘Tricycle’ by using I-pitara kit. The students of the Robotics club explained the working models in detail. The videos of models were also shown. The models were made up of Motors, caster wheel, flang plate, gears etc.

      The whole presentation was applauded by all the teachers and students they were excited and encouraged to be a part of the STEM club.

        As we all know, ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’, keeping this noble thought in mind the interactive assembly of Class 1A was conducted on 14th February, 2019.The theme of the assembly was ‘Clean India and Beautiful  India’. The students presented a  Nukkad Natak on Cleanliness  in which they showcased how to dispose off biodegradable and non biodegradable trash . The students were sensitized to take care of the mother nature. The play also motivated the children to keep their surroundings clean.

        After the play the students performed a dance on the song ‘Swachh Bharat ka irada’ and ‘Dettol dettol ‘ which again emphasised upon the importance of cleanliness.

        The ‘Art and Craft Club’ interactive assembly was also conducted in which students learnt how to make a  ‘Snow Man’ using an origami paper. All the students enjoyed the assembly.

            An Inter school singing competition was held at Mekhala Jha Auditorium,Traffic Training Park, Bal Bhawan,Delhi-110002  on 8-2-19. About 12 schools took part in the competition.The theme of the competition was “Jingle on Road Safety”. S.N.Mosobi (Additional Traffic Police Commissioner) was the guest of the programme.The following students took part in the competition.

            The participants sang a song on road safety “Zara Chalo Sambhal ke”and made the whole atmosphere melodious. Kartikeya Narang of 8B played harmonium and Sejal Mittal of 9A played tabla very beautifully. Arwachinians got 2nd position in the competition and were awarded with certificates and cash reward of Rs.9000. Mr.Bedi and Mrs.Neha Vats were the judges of the competition.

            It was a wonderful experience for all the participants.

              “Everything that begins comes to an end and each end culminates in a new beginning… Renewal is, but, a synonym of life”

               

              Filled with curiosity and zeal, the students of Class XI gathered to bid farewell to the outgoing Class XII batch of 2018 on February 8, 2019. The morning was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers and to reminisce joyous moments.

               

              The valedictory ceremony began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the honourable director Mr. Sharma, respected Principal Mrs Nair, the eminent guests, Dr. Shankar Goenka who is an author, coach and Tedx Speaker and Mr. Mahak Singh, Joint Commissioner, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The programme began with a melodious classical song after which the students of class XI presented a skit on school life and a fusion dance. The students of Class XII were felicitated with mementos and gifts. They were also given interesting titles by their juniors. The head boy, head girl and two other students of Class XII spoke to the audience about their school life which came to an end, their innumerable experiences and uncountable memories. They also thanked the school and the teachers for their relentless support.

               

              The chief guests, Dr. Goenka and Mr. Mahak Singh spoke to the students about the importance hard work and success in life. They motivated the students (specially the students of Class XII) with their words of wisdom.

               

              After the programme, the students, teachers and the staff were invited for a sumptuous lunch. Post-lunch, the students of Class XII were given an opportunity to showcase their talent. All the students of class XII confidently walked the ramp elegantly dressed in sarees and formal suits, answering questions asked by the judges. They also showcased their talent by singing beautiful songs and playing different instruments. They were later awarded with the titles of Master & Miss Well-dressed, Master & Miss Punctual, Master& Miss Voracious Reader, Master & Miss Perfect Smile, Master & Miss Rampwalker, Master & Miss Talented and finally Master & Miss Arwachin. The students also showcased their talent by singing beautiful songs and playing different instruments for which they were awarded.

              The event was judged by Ms. Shilpa Kathait, a model and actress who is also the 1st runner-up of Mrs DelhiNCR 2018. The other judge was Mrs. Ayushi Sharma, Director, Arwachin International School, Pilkhuwa who is the 1st runner up of Mrs. Singapolitan, 2019.

              The day came to an end with heavy hearts as the students bid farewell to the school. The Principal and the teachers wished all the students luck for their future endeavours. They were motivated to do their best and face the challenges of life with confidence and zeal.

                On 8.02.2019, class 4 B presented the interactive assembly on the topic ‘Team Work’. The rationale behind choosing this topic was that it is an effective way of learning and how children can learn from it.

                The Children learn how to cooperate with others and work in a group in a fruitful way. It encourages all to participate in the learning process. The assembly began with a group song titled ‘team work.’ The narrators discussed the advantages of team work and how it is beneficial for all of us. A group of students thereafter presented a skit showcasing how teamwork helps to enhance our knowledge by gaining information from our team mates. Lastly, the students performed a dance on various English songs.

                  ‘Say no to plastics’

                  The students of class - 4C conducted the interactive assembly on 8th February, 2019 in the school premise. The theme of the assembly was- ‘Say no to plastics’.

                  The class was divided into two groups. Students presented a mime showcasing the adverse effects of using and throwing away the plastics on the ground and in the water bodies. These non-biodegradable plastics are swallowed by the aquatic animals and enter our bodies in an indirect manner.

                  All the actors brought the emotions out perfectly and echoed the message well through their gestures and actions.

                   

                  Next in the row was a group dance performed by the students of the group 2 on the theme song- Tik tik tik, plastic ruhk na paye re. The lyrics of the song motivated the audience to stop using plastics and look for the better alternatives of plastics. Along with this, the anchors delivered a short speech stating the fact that the usage of plastics has increased rapidly in the past few years.

                  Both the performances were applauded by all the students and the teachers.

                    The students of class 1 B and Instrumental club conducted an interactive assembly on 6th February 2019. The theme of the assembly was “Basant Panchami”. The programme commenced with a Bhajan offering homage to  Goddess Saraswati by Shivansh followed by  a dance on Saraswati Vandana by girls. Chaitanya Dev recited a poem on “Basant Panchami”Pratyaksh, Soham Sachdeva, Divyanshi, Chaitanya Dev, Kanishka sang a melodious song on “Hey Sharde Maa”.   The children understood the importance of the festival Basant Panchami that on this day we worship the Goddess of Wisdom, that is Maa Saraswati. Finally the boys danced on the English song” I want to live like animals”  using various masks.

                    The instrumental Club students played the songs like” Hey Ram” ,  “Achyutam Keshavam” and “Choti choti gayya”  on the  keyboard.   “Happy Birthday to you” song was played on guitar by Iqra of class 3C.

                    The children enjoyed the programme. It was indeed a treat to the eyes.

                      Essay Writing Competition

                      To write means more than putting pretty words on a page; the act of writing is to share a part of your soul with the world.

                      Keeping in mind, the importance of ‘writing’, the English and Hindi Essay Writing Competitions for class 1 were conducted on 28th January 2019 and 4th February 2019 respectively in Arwachin International School. The topic for English Essay Writing Competition was “My Favourite Cartoon Character” and the topic for Hindi Essay Writing Competition was “Meri Pyari Maa”.

                      The students wrote beautifully, pouring their hearts out on the sheets of paper. The topics of the competitions were also very relatable that further helped the students to perform exceptionally well.

                        With the increase of screen time of computer, TV, digital devices, problems related to eyes have shown significant increase across all age groups especially children. Inadequate care and management, lifestyle have further aggravated eye related issues decade after decade. Left untreated in childhood, vision impairment can have long-lasting consequences. That’s why Essilor teams worldwide are driven by their vital mission-Improving lives by Improving Sight’.

                        On 1st February 2019 (Friday) an Eye Care Workshop was conducted in our school auditorium from 8 am to 9 am for classes 6, 7 and 8. In the one hour seminar representatives from Essilor provided information on eye diseases and eye care. It was an interactive session which covered preventive, curative and simple steps to take care of your eyes in daily life. The Essilor team and their eye care partner Qandhari Opticians also distributed informative pamphlets to the teachers and students. It was a very wonderful and helpful interaction, motivating our children to take care of themselves and to spread the word to their family and friends.
