REPORT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY AND JANAMASTHMI CELEBRATION

ARWACHIN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, celebrated the 67th Independence Day and Janamasthmi on 14th August, 2014 in the school auditorium.
The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Director Mr. Arun Sharma and Mrs. Sandra Swarup and Principal- Mrs. Gracy Peter. The show began with the Independence Day celebration. The students paid homage to the countless freedom fighters by dramatizing the pre-independence era. The students of classes 6-7 presented the play named- ‘Gandhiji’s Freedom Struggle’. The play was reconstruction of four major movements, viz. Satyagraha, Non- Cooperation, Swadeshi, and Civil Disobedience, led by Mahatma Gandhi. The drama was followed by the song ‘waving flags’ sang by the students of class 6.
The students of classes 11- 12 enacted a play called ‘Azadi Ke Deewane’ showing the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev, the great freedom fighters of our country. The spirit of patriotism was carried forward by the lyrics of the song ‘Apni azadi ko hum’ sang by the students of classes 6-7.
The celebration of the Independence Day was culminated with a dance medley on patriotic song, presented by the students of classes 1-7.
After this, the students celebrated Janamasthmi by dramatizing various phases of Lord Krishna’s life. The students of classes 2- 5 presented the birth of Lord Krishna. Then the students of class 5 sang a melodious classical song ‘vrindavan ka krishna kanhaiya’. The performance mesmerized the audience.
The singers of class 5 inspired us to come out of the shackles of domination, by singing the song ‘Go light your world’. The students won the heart of the audience by enacting Sri Krishna’s role as makhan chor. It was followed by a dance performance by the students of class 4 on the song ‘maiya yashoda dekho’.
After this, there was a beautiful blend of dance and song. The students presented a dance on the song ‘mach gaya shor’ sang by their fellow mates. The students put an end to the show by depicting the ‘kansvadha’ which re-established the victory of truth over evil followed by a dance on the song ‘main Radha tu Shyam’.
After all the energetic performances, our Director Mr. Arun Sharma and Mrs. Sandra Swarup and Principal- Mrs. Gracy Peter encouraged the students to follow the path of truth, patience and forgiveness.
