                  REPORT ON GENDER SENSITIVITY WORKSHOP

                  NEW

                  REPORT ON GENDER SENSITIVITY WORKSHOP

Our school recently participated in a  transformative CBP on Gender Sensitivity, led by Poonam Chaubey, a seasoned expert with many years of experience in child sensitisation and gender awareness. The session aimed to educate teachers on the importance of maintaining an unbiased attitude towards children of all genders and fostering a gender-positive environment within our school community.

Ms. Chaubey began the workshop by highlighting the significance of recognising and addressing gender stereotypes that often influence our perceptions and interactions. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, she demonstrated how unconscious biases could affect our behaviour and decision-making, especially in educational settings.

One of the key takeaways from the workshop was learning how to identify these biases and actively work towards eliminating them. Sheemphasised the importance of treating all children equally, regardless of gender, and encouraged us to question our assumptions and language use. By doing so, we can create an inclusive atmosphere where every student feels valued and respected.

The workshop also provided practical strategies to create a gender-positive environment in schools. Many classroom activities were suggested that would help to promote gender equality, using inclusive language, and ensure that school policies reflect a commitment to gender sensitivity. Additionally, she encouraged teachers to be role models, demonstrating gender-sensitive behaviour in their interactions with students.

The session concluded with a lively Q&A segment, where participants shared their thoughts and experiences, and Ms. Chaubey provided insightful responses and further guidance. The workshop left a lasting impact on all attendees, equipping us with the knowledge and tools to foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for every student.
